Hoist Trolleys

Two hoist trolleys. Pick the one built for your beam.

A trolley carries your hoist along the beam. LOADMATE builds both — a hand-operated manual trolley for simple, low-cost traverse, and a motorised electric trolley for fast, smooth movement under heavier, regular use.

LOADMATE Manual Trolley

Manual Trolley (Geared / Push-Pull)

Hand-operated trolley — push-pull or geared chain — that moves the hoist and load along the beam simply and reliably.

Light–mediumDuty
Push / gearedDrive
LowUpkeep

Best for: short beams, occasional traverse and budget-conscious lifting points where movement is by hand.

LOADMATE Electric Travelling Trolley

Electric Travelling Trolley

Motorised trolley that traverses the hoist smoothly and quickly along the beam — built for heavier loads and regular duty.

0.5–50 TCapacity
MotorisedDrive
Smooth / fastTravel

Best for: longer beams, frequent movement and heavier loads where speed, control and reduced operator effort matter.

Manual vs electric, line by line

The differences that actually drive the decision — drive, speed, effort and cost.

  Manual Trolley Electric Trolley
Capacity 0.5–50 T Up to 50 T
Drive Hand — push or geared Motorised
Travel speed Manual Single / two-speed / VFD
Operator effort Higher Low
Beam length suited Short Short to long
Duty Occasional Regular–heavy
Power needed None Yes
Relative price Lower — economical Higher — powered

Capacities are typical — final figures are confirmed against your hoist, beam and load on the product datasheet.

Which one is right for you?

A 30-second decision

Run your requirement against these. If most points fall in one column, that’s your pick.

Choose the manual trolley

The simple fit

  • The beam is short, traverse is occasional
  • Loads are light to medium
  • Lowest cost and simplest upkeep matter
  • There’s no power at the lifting point
  • Hand push or geared chain is acceptable
  • Operator effort isn’t a concern

Choose the electric trolley

The powered fit

  • The beam is long or traverse is frequent
  • Loads are heavier (up to ~50 T)
  • You want fast, smooth, controlled movement
  • Reducing operator effort matters
  • It runs a regular or high duty cycle
  • Power is available at the crane
Rule of thumb: short beam, light or occasional use → manual trolley. Long beam, heavier loads or frequent use → electric trolley. Tell us your load, beam and travel and we’ll match it.
Built in, not bolted on

What every LOADMATE trolley includes

Manual or electric, the engineering underneath is the same standard — built for smooth, safe travel matched to your beam.

Matched to your beam

Trolley wheels and track gauge are matched to your I-beam or box section for smooth, reliable travel.

Anti-drop & end stops

Anti-drop plates and end-travel stops keep the trolley safely captive on the beam.

Smooth, controlled travel

Geared hand travel or two-speed / VFD motorised travel gives precise positioning with minimal load sway.

Hoist-duty components

Hardened wheels, sealed bearings and crane-duty drive (electric) specified for continuous industrial service.

Built to your hoist & load

Capacity, gauge and headroom matched to your chain or wire rope hoist and load.

Pan-India supply & service

Stocked and supported across India, with spares so a lifting point is never down for long.

Where each one works

Applications by industry

A starting point by sector — final selection always comes down to your load, span and duty cycle.

Short fixed beams

A single lifting point with occasional side-to-side movement.

Often manual

Long monorail beams

Moving loads across the full length of a bay.

Usually electric

Maintenance points

Pull the load along by hand where traverse is rare.

Often manual

Production lines

Frequent, controlled traverse between stations.

Usually electric

Stores & workshops

Light loads, simple movement, low budget.

Often manual

Heavy handling

Heavier loads needing smooth, powered travel.

Usually electric

Questions buyers ask us

What is a cross travelling trolley?

A cross travelling trolley carries the hoist along the crane girder or monorail beam — manual push/geared or motorised electric — positioning loads across the span in capacities up to 50 tonnes.

Manual or electric travelling trolley — which is right?

Manual trolleys suit light loads and short, occasional travel; electric trolleys earn their cost on heavier loads, longer beams and frequent cycles. Pair either with a LOADMATE chain or wire rope hoist.

What does a cross travelling trolley do?

It carries the hoist along the beam so the load can move side to side, not just up and down. Manual trolleys move by hand; electric trolleys move under power.

Can I fit a trolley to my existing hoist?

Usually yes. We match the trolley capacity and track gauge to your hoist and beam — send the beam section and hoist details.

Manual or electric — which should I pick?

Short beams and occasional use suit a manual trolley; long beams, heavier loads or frequent movement suit an electric trolley.

Will it fit my beam?

We build trolleys to your I-beam or box-section width, with anti-drop plates and end stops for safe travel.

Still deciding? Send us your numbers.

Share your hoist, beam section and how far the load travels, and our engineers will recommend the right trolley — manual or electric, sized to your load.
