Manual Chain Hoists

Two chain pulley blocks. Pick the one built for your duty.

LOADMATE manual chain pulley blocks lift precisely with hand power alone — no electricity needed. Choose the portable block for everyday and field use, or the heavy-duty block for higher capacities and constant shop-floor work.

LOADMATE Portable Chain Pulley Block

Portable Chain Pulley Block

Light, self-contained hand chain block you can carry to the job — ideal for occasional lifting and field maintenance.

0.5–50 TCapacity

Portable vs HD series, line by line

The differences that actually drive the decision — capacity, lift, duty and cost.

  Portable Block HD Series
Lifting capacity 0.5–50 T Up to 50 T
Standard lift 3 m standard rise (6 m+ on request) Custom — to your need
Operation Hand chain — manual Hand chain — manual
Duty / use Occasional, portable Frequent, heavy-duty
Build Light, easy to carry Reinforced, hardened chain
Mounting Hook / portable Beam, trolley or fixed point
Design standard IS 3832 IS 3832
Relative price Lower — economical Higher — heavy-duty

Capacities and lift heights are typical — final figures are confirmed per your application on the product datasheet.

Which one is right for you?

A 30-second decision

Run your requirement against these. If most points fall in one column, that’s your pick.

Choose the portable block

The everyday fit

  • You lift up to about 20 tonnes
  • Lifting is occasional or moves around the site
  • You need a block one or two people can carry
  • There’s no power supply at the lifting point
  • Standard 6 m lift covers the job
  • Lower cost and simple upkeep matter

Choose the HD series

The heavy-duty fit

  • You need higher capacity than a portable block
  • Lifting is frequent, on a fixed shop floor
  • Extended lift height or extra chain falls are needed
  • Duty is heavy and continuous
  • You want a reinforced, longer-life build
  • It anchors to a fixed beam, trolley or structure
Rule of thumb: up to ~20 T and occasional or field use → portable block. Higher capacity or frequent heavy shop-floor lifting → HD series. Unsure? Send your load and lift height and we’ll size it.
Built in, not bolted on

What every LOADMATE chain pulley block includes

Portable or heavy-duty, the engineering underneath is the same standard — built around safe, dependable manual lifting.

Built to IS 3832

Manufactured to IS 3832 for hand-operated chain blocks, with a defined factor of safety on the load chain and hooks.

Mechanical load safety

Sized load chain, forged hooks with safety latches and a robust brake hold the load securely and resist overload.

Low hand-pull effort

Efficient gearing and a precision hand chain give controlled, low-effort lifting — even at higher capacities.

Hardened chain & gears

Heat-treated load chain, alloy hooks and hardened gears specified for repeated industrial lifting.

Built to your lift

Standard or extended lift height, with capacity and chain falls matched to your exact requirement.

Pan-India supply & service

Stocked and supported across India, with spares and service so a block is never out of action for long.

Where each one works

Applications by industry

A starting point by sector — final selection always comes down to your load, span and duty cycle.

Maintenance & MRO

Plant maintenance, machine changeovers and breakdown jobs where a portable block goes straight to the work.

Often portable

Fabrication & assembly

Regular shop-floor lifting and positioning of heavier sub-assemblies.

Usually HD

Site & field work

Construction sites, project work and stores with no power at the lifting point.

Often portable

Process plants

Frequent, higher-capacity manual lifting around pumps, valves and equipment.

Usually HD

Workshops & garages

Engine, gearbox and component lifting in service shops.

Often portable

Warehousing & stores

Loading, unloading and stacking heavier items on a fixed beam or trolley.

Questions buyers ask us

What is a chain pulley block?

A chain pulley block is a manual hoist: pulling the hand chain drives a geared load chain to lift up to 50 tonnes without electricity — portable, IS 3832 compliant lifting for sites, maintenance and rigging work.

Chain pulley block or electric hoist — which do I need?

For occasional lifts, no-power sites and portability, a chain block is unbeatable value. For frequent or production lifting, an electric chain hoist pays back quickly in speed and effort.

How do I select chain pulley block capacity?

Match the block to your heaviest regular load with headroom to spare, checking lift height and suspension. LOADMATE’s Portable and HD series cover 0.5 to 50 tonnes to IS 3832.

Do chain pulley blocks need a power supply?

No. They’re fully manual — you lift with the hand chain, so they work anywhere, including sites and areas with no electricity.

Can I mount the block on a trolley or beam?

Yes. Both series can be supplied for hook, beam or trolley mounting — pair them with a manual or electric trolley to traverse the load along a beam.

What lift height and capacity can you supply?

Standard lift is around 6 m and capacity scales with the series. Send your exact lift height and load and we’ll configure the right chain falls and capacity.

Are they tested and certified?

Yes. Blocks are built to IS 3832 and supplied with test certificates for your records and audits.

Still deciding? Send us your numbers.

Share your load, lift height and how often you lift, and our engineers will recommend the right chain pulley block — with the exact capacity and chain falls for the job.
