We speak melt shop, caster & mill — not just crane.

From scrap charging to coil dispatch, every stage of steel-making hangs from a hook. LOADMATE engineers the EOT and goliath cranes and severe-duty hoists that keep liquid metal moving and people safe — M7–M8 duty, heat-shielded, built to IS 3177 & IS 807.

Steel & Metals, stage by stage.

From the scrap yard to the dispatch bay, every stage of steel-making hangs from a hook — magnet-and-grab charging, ladles of liquid metal, caster maintenance, roll changes, coil handling and truck loading. Each one has its own loads, its own heat, and its own way of punishing a crane that wasn’t engineered for it.

LOADMATE engineers EOT cranes, goliath cranes and severe-duty hoists for every one of those stages — M7–M8 duty class, heat-shielded where it matters, built to IS 3177 and IS 807, and load-tested at 125% before dispatch. Supplied from Surat to steel producers across India, including the eastern steel belt of Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and West Bengal.

LOADMATE scrap yard crane Scrap & raw material

The yard where every heat begins

Before there is steel, there is scrap — truckloads of it, sorted, stacked, and fed to the furnace by the bucket. It’s outdoor work in dust and monsoon, magnet-and-grab duty, thousands of cycles a month. Most cranes age fast here; the ones that don’t were designed for this yard, not adapted to it.

  • What hangs from the hookScrap grabs and magnets, charge buckets, sponge-iron bags, ferro-alloy bins.
  • When the crane failsCharging stops — and an idle furnace burns money every minute it waits for material.
  • The LOADMATE answerGoliath & semi-goliath gantries with magnet/grab duty, weather-protected electricals, and M7 fatigue-rated structures.
LOADMATE melt shop EOT crane Melt shop — EAF / IF / BOF

Sixteen hundred degrees on a hook

There is no load in industry like a full ladle of liquid steel. The crane that carries it works above people, above equipment, in radiant heat that cooks cables and conductive dust that hunts for weak panels. This is M8 territory — the duty class where every component is chosen for the worst hour of the worst day.

  • What hangs from the hookCharge buckets into the furnace; full ladles of liquid steel to the LRF and the caster.
  • When the crane failsA ladle that cannot move is a safety event, a frozen heat, and refractory damage — the costliest failure a steel plant knows.
  • The LOADMATE answerM8 severe-duty EOT cranes with heat shielding, sealed electricals, redundant braking, and overload protection as standard thinking, not options.
LOADMATE caster maintenance hoist Continuous casting

The strand that never stops

A caster is a promise: once the sequence starts, it doesn’t pause. Tundish changes, mould swaps, and segment maintenance all happen against a running clock, above moving hot metal. Lifting here is surgery — creep speeds, exact positioning, zero drama.

  • What hangs from the hookTundishes, mould assemblies, caster segments, dummy bars; hot billets and slabs at discharge.
  • When the crane failsA missed tundish change breaks the casting sequence — restarting a strand costs hours and yield.
  • The LOADMATE answerSevere-duty EOTs with creep-speed precision controls, plus wire rope and chain hoists for the caster maintenance bays.
LOADMATE rolling mill crane Rolling mill

Where fatigue design earns its keep

Roll changes are the mill’s heartbeat — planned to the minute, repeated thousands of times across a crane’s life. Year one, any crane manages. Year ten separates structures sized for fatigue life from structures sized for a brochure. Steel people know the difference; so do we.

  • What hangs from the hookWork and back-up rolls, chocks, mill guides, spindles; hot coil at the exit end.
  • When the crane failsA stalled roll change idles the entire mill train — downtime measured in lakhs per hour.
  • The LOADMATE answerDouble-girder EOTs with main + auxiliary hoists, fatigue-rated girders, and VFD controls for millimetre placement.
LOADMATE coil yard crane Finishing & coil yard

Money in physical form

A finished coil is the invoice you haven’t sent yet. One careless lift telescopes it or bruises the outer wraps — and quality claims travel faster than trucks. Coil handling is a craft of edge protection, soft acceleration, and tooling that fits the product, not the other way around.

  • What hangs from the hookHR/CR coils on C-hooks and motorised coil tongs; slit coils and sheet packs over slitting & CTL lines.
  • When the crane failsEdge damage and telescoped coils — rejected material and customer claims, not just downtime.
  • The LOADMATE answerEOTs with C-hooks, motorised coil tongs and VFD soft controls; underslung cranes running above the process lines.
LOADMATE dispatch loading crane Dispatch & loading

The last lift before the invoice

Trucks queue at the gate on the transporter’s schedule, not yours — often at night, often in weather. The loading crane is the handshake between your plant and your customer’s promise date. Reliability here isn’t maintenance policy; it’s revenue policy.

  • What hangs from the hookCoils, billets, and bundles onto trucks and rakes — the lifts your delivery commitments ride on.
  • When the crane failsTrucks wait, demurrage accrues, and committed deliveries slip — the one failure your customers see directly.
  • The LOADMATE answerGoliath gantries and EOTs sized for loading bays, outdoor-protected, engineered for dependable availability.
