An EOT crane is an Electric Overhead Travelling crane. Its hoist raises and lowers the load, its trolley moves across the bridge, and the bridge travels along elevated runway rails. The crane moves material through a defined working area while keeping the floor free for production.

Double Girder EOT Crane

Two main bridge girders with the trolley running on top. Considered for higher capacities, demanding duty cycles, greater hook height, and applications needing an auxiliary hoist, walkway or operator cabin.

For replacement projects, send the existing crane data and runway drawings: building dimensions alone do not confirm that an existing runway can carry a new crane. EOT crane price in India

An EOT crane price is specific to its configuration. Capacity, span, lift height, duty class, travel speeds, controls and installation conditions all move the offer. Comparing quotations on capacity alone hides real differences in equipment and scope.

What moves the price

  • Capacity and span — girder section, end carriages, wheel loads
  • Height of lift — rope length, drum size, hoist frame
  • Duty class (M1–M8) — motor, gearbox and brake sizing; structure fatigue design
  • Controls — pendant, radio remote, cabin, VFD on each motion
  • Options — auxiliary hoist, walkway, anti-collision, load display, outdoor or hazardous-area build
  • Site scope — runway, DSL electrification, erection, testing and commissioning

What an itemised quotation should show

  • Crane with capacity, span, lift, duty class and speeds
  • Runway-related scope and electrification (supplied by whom)

  • Applicable taxes and stated exclusions
  • Warranty, documentation and after-sales terms

Enquiries for a 5 ton, 10 ton or 20 ton EOT crane should also state the span, height of lift and frequency of use. An auxiliary hoist, walkway or special operating environment should be included from the start, not added after the offer.

Erection and commissioning

Frequently asked questions about EOT cranes

What is the full form of EOT crane?

EOT stands for Electric Overhead Travelling. An EOT crane uses powered hoisting, cross travel and long travel motions to handle loads within its designed working area. Read the full explainer: what is an EOT crane.

How does an EOT crane work?

The hoist lifts and lowers the load. The trolley moves the hoist across the bridge, while the bridge travels along the runway rails. Together these three motions position the load anywhere in the crane's operating area.

Which is better, single girder or double girder?

How much does an EOT crane cost in India?

There is no single price for every EOT crane. A 5 T single girder workshop crane and a 100 T double girder mill crane differ many times over. Request a quotation using capacity, span, lift, duty, controls and project location, and confirm what is included in transport, installation, testing and taxes before comparing offers.

What is the difference between an EOT crane and a gantry crane?

Can an EOT crane be fitted to an existing building?

Often, after reviewing the building, runway, clearances and lifting requirement. Share available drawings and existing equipment details. The supporting structure and electrical supply must be assessed before a replacement or new installation is confirmed.

What information is needed for an EOT crane quotation?

Capacity, span, hook height, long travel length, operating pattern (lifts per hour, shifts per day), material handled and site location. Include drawings, power supply details and any special environmental or control requirement where available.

What documents should I request from an EOT crane manufacturer?
